The Lymphedema Association of Québec (LAQ) is proud to highlight the release of a powerful and timely book for all those affected by lipedema:
Corps Gras: ma quête personnelle pour mieux faire comprendre le lipœdème (“Fat Body: My Personal Quest to Better Explain Lipedema”) by Guylaine Guay, published by Québec Amérique.
Official launch event:
Friday, November 7, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
Librairie Un livre à soi, 1575 Laurier East Avenue, Montréal
Following her own diagnosis, the author—who is also a well-known columnist and activist—was shocked to discover that this condition, which affects approximately 1 in 10 women, is neither recognized nor properly supported in Québec or elsewhere in Canada.
In this deeply personal essay, informed by her reflections, interviews with medical professionals, and conversations with other women living with lipedema, Guay seeks to break the silence and launch a much-needed public conversation about this widespread but poorly understood condition.
The LAQ warmly invites members of the lipedema community, healthcare professionals, caregivers, and allies to attend this important event — a milestone for raising awareness of lipedema in Québec.
Please note: This book is available in French only.
