Published in over 5,000 copies, the LAQ Lymphedema Guide lists certified therapists in all regions of Québec, compressive garment manufacturers, distributors and retailers, as well as lymphedema services in hospitals. It also provides information on the proper use of the RAMQ’s compression garment program.
The Lymphedema Guide contains a wealth of information on our education and support groups, exercise programs, community financial assistance, hospitals with lymphedema clinics, and training for healthcare professionals.
The LAQ Lymphedema Guide is distributed free of charge to CLSCs, GMFs, our partners, and directly to patients.

Make sure you have a diagnosis of lymphedema from your treating physician (e.g., family doctor, phlebologist, dermatologist, oncologist) and a complete prescription for decongestive therapy and compression garments.
Choose a therapist from the Certified therapists section (p. 6-12) and complete the entire cycle of decongestive therapy with bandages.
Choose a compression garment fitter from the Products & Services section (p. 16-20) to take measurements. Wear your bandages 24/7 until your compression garment is delivered.
Benefit from RAMQ financial support through your fitter or by submitting your own application (p. 21).
After delivery of the garment: you have 10 working days to notify the fitter of any discomfort. Consult your therapist again for a follow-up.
For questions or help, call the LAQ at 1 866 979-2463.
The LAQ would like to express its gratitude to the RAMQ, which administers the Compression Garment Program.
