How often should compression garments be replaced?

Your compression garments work hard for you… but not forever!

To manage chronic swelling effectively, it’s essential to replace your compression garments every 3 to 4 months. 📆 Over time, the fabric loses elasticity, reducing the level of compression needed to support your condition.

💡 Good news: If you have a diagnosis of lymphedema, or lymphedema secondary to lipedema, the RAMQ Program can help reduce the cost of your compression garments. Learn more

♻️ Don’t throw away your old garments just yet! They can still come in handy:

🧹 For messy tasks like gardening or painting
🌊 In chlorinated pools
🧳 As a backup set for travel or emergencies

🖊️ Pro tip: When you receive a new garment, mark the date on the label with a permanent marker to help track its wear time.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to Bauerfeind, Platinum Sponsor of the LAQ, for generously supporting this message! 💙
